will achieve this goal through an organization which attracts and builds the
finest employees, encourages teamwork, and rests on integrity to drive our
company ahead. Through our successful
pursuit of this goal, we expect to continue our growth and profit position so
that all associated with Riverside Physical Therapy will prosper.
As of January 2015, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin islands have some form of DIRECT ACCESS to physical therapist service. In the state of Oregon, clients have unrestricted DIRECT ACCESS to physical therapy without a physician referral. This simply means that you or anyone can see a physical therapist and be evaluated and treated for a musculoskeletal dysfunction (Example: Neck pain, back pain, etc) without first seeing a medical doctor, but pay at your own out-of-pocket expense. However, certain healthcare insurance companies (Example: PPO Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon) allow their members to have direct acess to physical therapy without a physician referral and be covered for the cost of physical therapy services. For more information, please call your health insurance provider and ask them if they would pay for physical therapy services without a physician referral. Other healthcare insurance companies may require a physician referral to physical therapy in order for them to cover the costs. So, if you prefer seeing a physical therapist directly for evaluation and treatment and just pay out-of-pocket, you could simply just call us to make an appointment and we can get you in right away, usually within 24-48 hours.
Physical therapists have the educational background and training to screen for comorbid medical conditions (Example: Liver disease, kidney disease, etc) or non-musculoskeletal conditions that co-exist with musculoskeletal dysfunctions (Example: Shoulder pain, back pain, etc) that may warrant a referral to another healthcare provider (Example: Medical doctor) which they are trained to do when it falls out of their scope of practice. If you are a client with a musculoskeletal dysfunction who believes you should be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist, please feel free to contact us anytime. We may be able to assist you by contacting your physician to obtain a referral to physical therapy for an evaluation. However, you may also be proactive in your own healthcare by contacting your physician directly and request a referral to physical therapy if you want your healthcare insurance company to cover the costs.
We highly value health promotion and preventative health care by providing evidence-based wellness programs to improve and maintain your health and physical fitness level.
