CANYONVILLE GRANTS PASS Our mission and goal is to meet the demands of healthcare as our community continues to grow, and to provide you with the highest standard of healthcare and most up-to-date evidence-based physical therapy services to meet your functional needs. Physical therapy can help you improve MOBILITY, MOTION, and REDUCE PAIN without medication, and may also help you avoid unnecessary surgery. Learn more benefits of physical therapy by visiting Move Forward Physical Therapy. For your information, Oregon is one of 45 states that allow clients direct access to physical therapy without a physician referral. This simply means that anyone can see a physical therapist and be evaluated and treated for a musculoskeletal dysfunction (Example: Neck pain, back pain, etc) without first seeing a medical doctor, but pay at your own out-of-pocket expense. However, certain healthcare insurance companies (Example: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon) allow their members to have direct acess to physical therapy without a physician referral and be covered for the cost of physical therapy services. Other healthcare insurance companies may require a physician referral to physical therapy in order for them to cover the costs. Physical therapists have the educational background and training to screen for comorbid medical conditions (Example: Liver disease, kidney disease, etc) or non-musculoskeletal conditions that co-exist with musculoskeletal dysfunctions (Example: Shoulder pain, back pain, etc) that may warrant a referral to another healthcare provider (Example: Medical doctor) which they are trained to do when it falls out of their scope of practice. If you are a client with a musculoskeletal dysfunction who believes you should be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist, please feel free to contact us anytime. We may be able to assist you by contacting your physician to obtain a referral to physical therapy for an evaluation. However, you may also be proactive in your own healthcare by contacting your physician directly and request a referral to physical therapy if you want your healthcare insurance company to cover the costs. We highly value health promotion and preventative health care by providing evidence-based wellness programs to improve and maintain your health and physical fitness level. RIVERSIDE PHYSICAL THERAPY is credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a clinical residency program for physical therapists in ORTHOPEDICS.
